How experienced are your surgeons? |

You are very welcome to ask the surgeon who you consult with, how many of a
certain operation he/she has performed. The surgeon will have performed many
previous procedures, and he will be well experienced in his field for each
treatment. Also, we believe it is vital that your surgeon has a lot of
experience in carrying out cosmetic surgery procedures. |

How can I know if surgery is right for me? |

Your surgeon's job is to tell you what surgery they can do for you. Only you
can decide whether the operation is right for you. It is important that you
examine carefully your reasons for undergoing surgery. Your surgeon will advise
you as to what can be achieved. You should consider your decision to undergo
surgery part of your plan to improve your quality of life. |

Do I need to consult my General Practitioner before going ahead with my
procedure? |

No, but you are strongly advised to do so. It is not necessary to
obtain a referral from your GP, however The General Medical Council
advises that your GP should be kept informed of ALL medical treatment that you
undergo. |

Is the initial consultation with the surgeon or with an advisor? |
|
|

All consultations are with a surgeon only. The advisors are only there
to find the best surgeon for you and offer advice to make sure you make an
informed decision regarding surgery. |

How will my procedure be carried out and what are the risks involved? |
|

You will be provided with ample written literature covering all aspects of
your surgery/treatment before you have your initial consultation with the
surgeon. This will then enable you to make your decision knowing exactly what is
involved. |

What will happen when I am at the consultation with the surgeon? |
|
|

When you arrive at the consultation you will be asked to fill in a quick
registration form at reception, this is so the surgeon has all the correct
details for you and any important medical information before consultation. You
will then go in and sit with the surgeon whilst he asks you what you would like
to change and why, you can discuss all aspects of the surgery here. He/she will
then go on to examine you and see what can be done to help. |

Does the surgeon offer digital imaging so
I can see what the end result of
my cosmetic surgery will look like? |
|

Some surgeons have computer imagery where they can take a photo of the
feature you would like to change, scan into a PC, and man oeuvre the picture to
resemble what you would like the nose, face, etc, to look like. This can be very
helpful when trying to imagine what the end result will be like, though the
image is not an exact replica of the outcome, but an idea of what you are trying
to achieve. |

Can I ask the surgeon questions at the consultation? |

Ask the surgeon all the questions you have - it is always best to get all the
info you need about the procedure and recovery time. Though you can always go
back for another consultation if you forget anything. We recommend before the
consultation you write a list of questions you want to ask, this will help
when you get there, as many patients forget to ask all the questions they wanted
to. This way you don't forget any important questions.

What happens after the consultation? |

After consultation you will be posted a quote for the surgery you want, and
also a summary of the consultation regarding the surgery you enquired about, and
information answering any queries you had. The surgeon will also send some
additional helpful information about your treatment. |

How do I book a date for the operation? |
|
|
|

If you have had a consultation with a surgeon and have any further queries
before booking the surgery, or have no further questions and/or want to book the
surgery, there will be contact details on there for any further help you need.
Please be aware that the cosmetic surgeons only have a limited amount of
hospital theatre operating time available each week and as such it is advisable
to book your surgery date well in advance to ensure you get the dates you want. |
